LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle, fatal collision in Lancaster County.
Officials say around 8:30 p.m. on October 25, SCHP was called to Old Hickory Road near Box Car Road in response to a car crash.
Troopers say the incident involved a 2008 Toyota SUV that had five people in the vehicle. The vehicle was traveling north on Old Hickory Road when it went off the road, striking a ditch and a tree before overturning.
Four of the occupants were transported to the hospital with various injuries. According to the Chief Deputy Coroner Jennifer Collins and Deputy Coroner John Collins, a 15-year-old girl who was a backseat passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation by the SCHP and Lancaster County Coroner's Office.
