EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The Blue Front Fire has grown to 200 acres as of Tuesday morning, Oct. 29, with 0 percent containment, and is located within the White Mountain Wilderness area at the Blue 2 and South Fork Fire burn scar, according to the Incident Information System's website.
The fire is located four miles west of Alto, New Mexico, and was detected on Monday, Oct. 28.
The website says the Smokey Bear Hotshots crew, along with local firefighting agencies responded on Monday and remained overnight.
Warm weather and high winds are expected on Tuesday, which will cause the fire to grow. Crews will work to access the wildfire and air support including helicopters will be used to drop water on the fire, according to the website.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
