Commander of Scott Air Force Base to be honored by City of Shreveport; here's why

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - A Southwood High School alumnus who serves as the 18th Air Force Commander at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois will soon be honored by the City of Shreveport.
Mayor Tom Arceneaux will present Major General Charles D. Bolton with a ceremonial key to the city on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
The Mayor has shared his excitement for the event, explaining that Major General Bolton has dedicated his life to serving our country with honor and distinction.
"We are thrilled to welcome him back to Shreveport and to recognize his significant contributions to our nation's defense. His achievements serve as an inspiration to our entire community and particularly to the young men and women of Shreveport," said Arceneaux.
The ceremonial key will be presented in the foyer on the first floor of Government Plaza, 505 Travis Street.
