Baton Rouge community can see new movie about Black women who shaped US for free

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Alliance for Students is hosting the free pre-screening of the documentary "Dear America: A Letter from Black Women" at 6 p.m. Oct. 29 at BREC's Independence Park Theatre.
The documentary showcases the untold stories of Black women who have played a pivotal role in shaping America's political landscape. The documentary features a range of influential activists, including groundbreaking activists and community organizers, as well as Adonica Pelichet Duggan, a Baton Rouge native and founder of the Baton Rouge Alliance for Students.
This nonpartisan initiative encourages people across the country to use their voice andvote in the upcoming election.
Guests are encouraged to RSVP in order to attend the free event.
