BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) - The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place in the 1900 block of Sparta Avenue on Monday, Oct. 28. BRPD said they were called to the scene around 4:40 p.m. and found that a juvenile male had been shot. They said the shooting victim was taken to the hospital by personal vehicle. Their injuries are considered to be not life threatening, according to BRPD. Detectives are working to figure out what led to the shooting and there is not a suspect at this time. The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Violent Crimes Unit at 225-389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867.
