Rich Segal spoke with Vernon Effenberger, an information specialist with Take Care of Texas, to talk about debunking some myths when it comes to sustainable living. Take Care of Texas is a statewide campaign that is part of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
One of the subjects Effenberger and Segal cover is whether or not you should clean out your recyclables before depositing them in recycling bins, and if doing so is a waste of water.
Effenberger also talks about if sustainable products are more expensive than non-sustainables, and he discusses the practice of putting organics in the compost.
