SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - In the final days before the election, local organizations are holding events to help give voters a better view of some of the local initiatives you'll see on your November 5th ballot. One week from Election Day: Deadlines and what’s on the ballot In Springfield, local groups are coming together to discuss Question 2. Voting yes on Question 2 is a vote to remove the MCAS graduation requirement for public schools in our state. A community forum will be held on Tuesday with teachers, parents, and officials from the Springfield Public Schools district to answer questions about the issue. That happens on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Bay Area Neighborhood Council on Bay Street. “On behalf of my esteemed colleagues, Mary B. Worthy, Dr. Bobby Rennix, Willette Johnson, and Emurriel Holloway, as members of the Coalition of Experienced Black Educators, we are honored to provide this platform for our community to learn more about and engage in discussion on this critical question on the ballot this November” states Dr. Gloria Williams.
