Dodgers One Win Away from World Series Title; Take Game 3 42
Oct 29, 2024
The Yankees poked the bear in game 1 when they decided to intentionally walk Mookie Betts to get to Freddie Freeman. When a team does that it sends a message to the hitter, “we think we have a better chance of getting you out over the guy we just walked.” Freeman heard that message loud and clear. Freeman hit a walk-off grand slam to take game 1 and the Dodgers have been rolling since.
Freeman homered again in game 2 and last night hit a deep ball in his third straight game. Last night’s bomb gave the Dodgers the first runs of the game and a 2-0 lead. The Dodgers pitching staff, started by Walker Buehler, shut down the Yanks offense until the ninth when New York cut the deficit to two. But it was too little too late as the Dodgers were able to hold off the Yankees and take game 3 4-2.
The Dodgers look to close out the series tonight at 7:08 CT on FOX.
