KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Firefighters responded to a home on fire near 60th and McGee early Tuesday morning. Firefighters told us the house was being remodeled, and nobody was inside. A fire department spokesperson said the wind was not an issue while they put out this fire. Wind causes trouble for fighters in overnight house fire Investigators believe the fire started in the basement, and worked its way to the attic. It's not clear how the fire started. Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins says the homeowners were in the final stages of the remodel -- and slated to move into this home in just a couple weeks. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
