Oct 28, 2024
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Monroe County’s annual Veterans Day Parade is set to return Nov. 9 for its third year. Things are scheduled to kick off at 10:30 a.m. at the corner of South Goodman Street and Highland Avenue.
The parade route will run up Highland Avenue to the Greater Rochester Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Gary Beikirch Park on South Avenue.
Monday, Monroe County Executive Adam Bello’s office announced that Salvatore’s Pizza will be the official sponsor this year.
”It is our greatest honor to not only support one of our own - veteran Nick Pearl, owner of the Henrietta Salvatore’s Saloon - but also honor the sacrifices and service of our local veterans by acknowledging their contributions to our country,” explained Kayla Kent-Moreira, the president of Salvatore’s.
In honor of the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, the Grand Marshal of this year’s parade will be “The Vietnam Veteran.” Members of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 20 will be featured on a float during the parade.
