MIDDLETON, Mass. (WWLP) - Another large brush fire is burning for a second day on Monday in nearby Middleton. How to prepare for brush fires during dry, windy conditions According to the Middleton Fire Department, the fire has burned about 50 acres as of Sunday night. Crews battling the fire will continue to put out the flames Monday morning. Officials state that residents can expect to smell and see smoke in the air for days to come, as they are expecting the fire to burn for multiple days. They are asking residents to keep windows and doors closed to help prevent smoke from entering their homes. If you should see any active flames approaching your home or property, or if a member of your family is respiratory compromised and is suffering any effects from the smoke, call 911.
