ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The sun was shining on the 10th annual Sugar Skull Fun Run on Sunday, winding its way through Tingley Drive in Downtown Albuquerque.
The theme of the race centers around Día de los Muertos. Runners were greeted with marigold flowers, painted faces, and other bright sights of fall.

Local artists were offering paintings and crafts you could only find at the race.
"Día de los Muertos, we see a lot of different events around the city and the county that kind of tie into that around this time of year. It's also around Halloween, so people get festive, extra festive, with their costumes, and their dogs and their kids, and it's a really good time," said Event Coordinator Rudy Mangum.
Officials said that they are always grateful for the community and volunteers coming together to make these events happen.
