Several crews throughout the state have shown up to help put out the flames of the Rush Fire. Officials said that the fire started Thursday near Rush Lake. A hotspot map from NASA showed that the hottest part of the fire was in the northwest portion. An update posted by the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge stated that the animals will be okay, specifically the Bison that live on the refuge. "Our Bison can avoid these areas and in fact, this can end up improving the habitat for the bison - our bison heard is doing well and is safe," said Refuge Manager Amber Zimmerman. Many crew members have remained on the fire throughout the night, preparing for Monday.
