BISMARCK, N.D. (KXNET)- Right now, work is happening to improve the sound at one of Bismarck's catholic churches. Workers are installing a new organ in the loft at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit. The organ has been part of the music at cathedral since 1948, along with dozens of Wicks pipes, which are made in Illinois. The project is also replacing the church's speakers after nearly 30 years. In the meantime, Father Joshua Ehli says the church and choir will use a piano until the new organ is installed and tuned. "But the organ is something where if we have one cantor, we're using every Sunday. Not at all of the masses, but at some of them," Father Ehli said. "It's an integral part of our worship. We also have a grand piano up here, so we're going to use both. And allow it to have the piano up here, the organ and working in harmony. Every Sunday, this organ is being played." Father Ehli says they'll be dedicating the new organ at a service on December 8th, which is open to anyone to come and listen.
