2 people experience medical emergencies during Marine Corps Marathon, DC Fire and EMS says

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Two runners were taken from the 49th Marine Corps Marathon on Sunday to area hospitals after experiencing medical emergencies, according to the DC Fire and EMS Department (DCFD).
DCFD said that at around 10:40 a.m., a man in the area of the Jefferson Memorial had a life-threatening medical emergency.
Responders provided the man with Advanced Life Support medical treatment before the US Park Police helicopter took him to an area hospital.

Later, at around noon, DCFD responded to a woman who was also having a life-threatening medical emergency.
Responders also provided her with Advanced Life Support medical treatment before the US Park Police helicopter took her to the hospital.
As of Sunday afternoon, the status of the man and woman is unknown.
