HAGERSTOWN, Md. (DC News Now) -- The Maryland Office of the Attorney General said its Independent Investigation Division (IID) is investigating after a man died while in police custody in Hagerstown on Saturday night. According to the attorney's office, on Saturday at about 10:15 p.m., members of the Hagerstown Police Department were executing a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of E. Washington St. Upon arriving, officers found a man outside of the residence. They placed him in handcuffs and put him into a police cruiser during the search. Woman injured after shooting in Southeast DC While in the back seat of the cruiser, the man vomited, started struggling to breathe and became unresponsive.   Officers gave the man medical attention before responders took him to the hospital, where he died. Authorities said officers wore body-worn cameras and had dashboard cameras at the time of the incident. The IID will generally release the body-worn camera footage within 20 business days of an incident; however, this is subject to change.
