WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- Saturday was National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. This day allows people to safely dispose of expired or unused prescription drugs while also educating the general public about the potential for medication abuse. There were many drop-off sites around Kansas. Wesley Medical Center was one of the places people were dropping off medicines in Wichita. Hospital officials say the city continues to struggle with opioid misuse. Janet Drennen said she was motivated to take part. "This is a big thing because I have a friend that is very big into, you know, making sure people don't overdose, and she keeps Narcan all the time," Drennen said.
