Algiers overnight homicide under investigation

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened overnight in an Algiers neighborhood.
NOPD officers said around 11:20 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, they were called to the scene of a shooting in the 3200 block of General De Gaulle Drive.
Man, woman dead in presumed Slidell murder-suicide
Upon arrival, officers said they found the victim inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.
NOLA EMS pronounced the victim dead on the scene.
No further details are available at this time. The NOPD is in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.
Lafayette woman killed in Lafourche Parish crash
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will release the victim's identity after an autopsy is done and the family is notified.
