CORDOVA, Tenn. -- On Sunday, the 27th annual "Step Up for Down Syndrome" awareness walk took place in Cordova. More than 1,500 participants came to Bert Ferguson Park to celebrate raising awareness and focusing on inclusion in the community. Memphian sets up ‘Haunted Yard’ for St. Jude fundraiser This fundraiser helps support the many programs at Down Syndrome Association of Memphis and the Mid-South. "So, we say a lot at our office, 'More alike than different," said DSAM and the Mid-South Executive Director Lori Green. "I think when we begin looking at an individual with a disability or with Down Syndrome - just realize they're a person with a name and that's what we want to look at. They have hopes and dreams. They want to do the same things that you or I want to do."
