INDIANAPOLIS — A suspect was critically injured during an officer-involved shooting on the near east side of Indianapolis Sunday afternoon. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, around 3:30 p.m., officers were approached by a vehicle while they were working a separate incident in the 1000 block of North Kealing Avenue. A female ultimately exited the vehicle and told officers she was being held at gunpoint. Sometime after the woman exited the vehicle, an officer-involved shooting occurred. IMPD confirmed a suspect was struck by gunfire during the incident. The suspect was transported to a local hospital in critical condition after the shooting. IMPD has reported that it is not searching for any additional subjects that may have been involved in the incident. Police indicated that they located a firearm at the scene during their investigation. Per IMPD, no officers were injured during the shooting.
