PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Talk about a cold front! We've been in the 50s all day Sunday which, compared to Saturday afternoon, is nearly 25 degrees colder in a 24-hour period. The chilly weather remains into the evening and overnight hours with many in the low 50s after 8 p.m.  Mostly cloudy skies remain overnight and temperatures fall into the mid-40s Monday morning. That means keep the coats out for the kiddos. It's going to be cold at the bus stop! Skies become partly cloudy throughout the day Monday and afternoon temperatures reach the mid-60s.  We'll remain near-seasonable for temperatures into Tuesday with mornings in the upper 40s and highs reaching the upper 60s. A mix of sun and clouds remains for the second day of the work week.  Mostly sunny skies on Wednesday and temperatures heat right back up for the second half of the week. We'll wake up in the mid-50s Wednesday morning and highs reach the mid-70s. Thursday brings another morning in the upper 50s with afternoon temperatures reaching the mid-70s. That means for trick-or-treating Thursday evening, temperatures will likely be in the upper 60s. Mild and comfortable for Halloween! That also means jackets shouldn't have to ruin any costume this year! We'll remain warm into Friday with morning temperatures in the upper 50s and afternoon highs remaining in the mid-70s. Skies will be partly cloudy. Another cold front approaches the Triad into Friday night which brings temperatures back to seasonable to start the weekend. We'll be in the mid-50s Saturday morning and highs reach the upper 60s.  A mix of sun and clouds into Sunday with morning temperatures in the low 50s. Afternoon highs reach the low 70s. The above-normal temperature trend looks to continue through the first week of November.
