We saw a sight for sore eyes on Friday, which was some rain, even though it wasn't much. The rain we picked up at the Fort Wayne International Airport, which was 0.34 inches, means we are no longer in the running for the driest October on record in Fort Wayne. Our total for the month now stands at 0.35 inches, which places us at the third driest October on record at this point. Even with this rain, we still need quite a bit more to help out the drought conditions we have in place. More rain chances to end the month could improve our standings on this list, and perhaps some slight assistance in the drought conditions, however. You can click on the link below to learn more. Friday rain ends our driest ever October chance High pressure has moved back in though and has brought us tranquil weather all weekend long. Look for clear skies to continue this evening, along with seasonable temperatures. This is great weather for outdoor fall activities! A few clouds will move in later tonight, with temperatures dropping down into the low-to-mid 30s. Grab a coat as you're heading out the door early Monday morning to go back to work or school. We start off clear and cool tonight.A few more clouds move in later at night, with lows in the low-to-mid 30s. On Monday, we start off mostly sunny, but we will see clouds increase. Skies will vary between partly cloudy and mostly cloudy by the afternoon, with warmer temperatures compared to the weekend; look for highs to reach the mid-60s. We warm into the mid-60s on Monday. A drastic increase in warmth will be noted on Tuesday and Wednesday, as a warm front brings in warmer air from the southwest. This will also bring windy conditions, with gusts up to 40 mph possible on both days. These strong southwesterly winds will also give our temperatures a big boost! We're talking potential record warmth on both Tuesday and Wednesday, with Tuesday holding the better chance to break the daily record high. It will feel summer-like outside! We're windy and potentially record warm on Tuesday and Wednesday. Here are the forecasted highs and record highs for both days. Record warmth will not be seen on Halloween though, as a cold front will move through. Periods of rain will certainly make this a scarrrryyyy forecast when combined with falling temperatures in the afternoon. Confidence is medium the rain will be gone by trick-or-treat time, but it will certainly feel spooky outside for Halloween night! Continue to check back in for forecast updates here in the coming days. Rain is likely on Halloween, but could exit before trick-or-treating. We dry out on Friday, with highs back in the 50s. We do warm back up though over the weekend, with more rain chances making an appearance early next week. The 6-10 day temperature outlook remains above average in our area.
