Suspect Arrested For Intentionally Set Fire In North Charlotte

A suspect was arrested after investigators determined that an early morning fire was set intentionally, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.
Around 5:45 a.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to Somerset Springs Drive to battle a structure involved in heavy smoke and flames. Fire began to spread and a second alarm was activated around 5:48 a.m.
The blaze was controlled by 6 a.m.
Investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set and took the suspect into custody. The suspect did sustain injuries and received treatment following the arrest.
The fire displaced four residents and resulted in $345,000 in property and content loss.
The Red Cross is aiding the displaced occupants at this time.
