AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas Longhorns hung on to beat Vanderbilt 27-24 on Saturday but slid one spot to No. 6 in the Associated Press Top 25 rankings released Sunday. Miami replaced the Longhorns in the top 5 while the four teams above the Hurricanes remained the same as last week: Oregon, Georgia, Penn State and Ohio State. Texas A&M ran away from Louisiana State 38-23 behind three second-half rushing touchdowns from quarterback Marcel Reed, moving up four spots to No. 10. Reed replaced Connor Weigman in the third quarter and the Aggies' defense intercepted LSU's Garrett Nussmeier three times. LSU dropped eight spots to No. 16 with the loss. Tennessee held at No. 7, Notre Dame moved up four spots to No. 8 after a 51-14 win over Navy and Brigham Young rose two spots to No. 9. Washington State and Colorado moved into the rankings at No2. 22 and 23, respectively. Vanderbilt is the first team in the receiving votes category with 41 points behind No. 25 Missouri.
