Counterfeit $20 bills found on man driving stolen vehicle in Colma

(KRON) – Multiple counterfeit $20 bills were found on a Vallejo resident driving a stolen vehicle, according to the Colma Police Department.
Colma police received an automatic license plate reader notification that a vehicle that was reported stolen to the Mateo County Sheriff’s Office was entering the city at 12:56 p.m. on Thursday.
Officers located the vehicle at Serra Shopping Center’s parking lot. Colma PD said a man, later identified as Vallejo resident Kendric Prudhomme, returned to the vehicle. Police said Prudhomme tried to buy merchandise at a nearby store with counterfeit bills.

Prudhomme, 40, was being placed under arrest, when officers found multiple counterfeit $20 bills on him.
Prudhomme was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for suspension of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, being in possession of a stolen vehicle and being in possession and passing counterfeit bills.
Colma PD said the vehicle was eventually returned to the owner. The vehicle was reported stolen two months before the incident.
