Quarterbacks A: Drew Allar and Beau Pribula combined to complete 25-of-31 for 246 yards and two touchdowns. That’s winning football. Running backs A: Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen found multiple ways to produce, combining for 227 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns. Receivers B: Led by tight end Tyler Warren, seven players caught passes. It was well-balanced, but Julian Fleming had a huge drop inside the Wisconsin 15. Offensive linemen B: Nolan Rucci filled in nicely for Anthony Donkoh, Penn State’s best run blocker, and they paved the way for 419 total yards. Defensive linemen A: Interior guys had four of the Lions’ five tackles for loss and a pressure on the key interception. They often forced Braedyn Locke to get rid of the ball quickly, even without a sack. Linebackers B: Helped limit Wisconsin to 81 rushing yards with Kobe King and Dominic DeLuca finishing with five tackles apiece. Defensive backs A: Jaylen Reed made the play of the game with his interception return, and Zakee Wheatley made a game-high 10 tackles. Special teams B: Solid games from the kickers, but the coverage on punt and kickoff returns was leaky. A long Wisconsin runback was wiped out by a penalty. Coaches A: Offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki adapted his play-calling with Pribula replacing the injured Allar. Defensive coordinator Tom Allen’s top five group limited Wisconsin to three points and three three-and-outs in the second half. James Franklin improved to 5-0 against Wisconsin.
