CHARLESTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — The Charlestown Fire Department said that it battled a brush fire in the dark on Oct. 26. The department said the fire was in an area with “difficult terrain” and called in an extra tanker and manpower to assist. The extra firefighters assisted moving hose lines up and down the area’s “steep slope.” The department added that it returned to the area to check for hotspots Sunday morning, of which there were none.
