NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Swifties in New Orleans for Taylor Swift Eras Tour says the one thing the city of New Orleans accomplished was making them feel welcomed. "It's been amazing. Even places we didn't expect to run into Swifty stuff. We've had some of the experiences," said Taylor Sift fan Melissa Wilmarth. Between the Swifty events, the bar has hosted and the boost in sales, many say it couldn't have been a greater weekend. "I've never seen so many happy people in my life. This crowd has definitely brought joy in a nostalgic way. It's like the little kid in us. I'm loving it. I'm loving it for the business. I'm loving it for everyone else, too," said Pira. Swift-themed t-shirts and bags filled with eras tour merchandise could be seen all around the city. One fan explained she had to book two different hotels just to be here for the weekend. Overall she says going to a Taylor Swift concert was worth it all. "She really feels like she's there just performing for you, no matter where your seats are. You don't even need to know all of the lyrics to her songs. It's like a movie. You're just watching everything that's going around and she really feels like she's talking right to you," said Taylor Swift fan Zoey Lobejko. Taylor Swift mania also leads to Second Harvest contributions While fans stacked on friendship bracelets, Wilmarth says she loved all the Taylor Swift-inspired themes that were offered. The huge friendship bracelet outside of the dome is her favorite. "It was amazing. We waited so long. New Orleans is always welcoming and always so fun when we're here. But it's been just extra fun, like seeing all the special menus and the friendship bracelets at the stadium. It's just been just amazing. It's made the experience even better than we could have expected," said Wilmarth. Pira says with this supposedly being a pre-superbowl, she has mixed feelings. "I am a little nervous, but just as excited just because now this is like a little dosage. Right. So let's amplify this in a few months. Oh, my god. Is going to be great," said Pira.
