WAYNE COUNTY, Ind. — A fire truck in Wayne County crashed after responding to a fire on Saturday, injuring one firefighter. According to a Facebook post in collaboration with the Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department and Bentonville Volunteer Fire Department, Bentonville FD was originally called to a large field fire and combine fire north of Bentonville. The fire was quickly extinguished with further aid from Milton, Cambridge City, Everton, Dublin, Raleigh and Ems. The post continued by saying that once the fire vehicles were returning home, a tanker from the Dublin Fire Department left the east side of the road and rolled into some trees. The Bentonville FD responded, and the driver of this tanker was able to exit the vehicle on his own. Per the Facebook post, he was later taken to an area hospital with multiple injuries. The driver's current condition was not listed. "This is just one of many [dangers] faced in the fire service and a test to why we should all always wear our seat belts," the post read.
