The State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine is presenting Swan Lake at Shreveport's famed Municipal Memorial Auditorium on Fri., Mar. 2024 at 7:30 p.m. Tchaikovsky's celestial melodies will immerse you in the beauty of hand-painted sets, more than 200 breathtaking costumes, and an immeasurable amount of stage talent. You must be age five and above to attend the two-and-a-half-hour performance with a 20-minute intermission. Swan Lake will only be in Shreveport for one night. Swan Lake was performed by the State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine, presented by Classical Arts Entertainment. (Source: CAE) The ballet, composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, tells the story of a princess named Odette who is transformed into a swan by an evil sorcerer. The princess and her maidens become swans every day, but at night, they become human again. The only way the spell can be broken is for a prince to fall in love with the princess. Prince Siegfried sees her by the lake and must choose between Odette and the woman his mother wants him to marry. The evil sorcerer doesn't stop there, though.
