Southern University football falls to Florida AM, 246

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Southern University Jaguars traveled to Tallahassee, Florida to take on the Florida A&M University Rattlers on Saturday, Oct. 26. The Jaguars fell to Florida A&M, 24-6.
The Jaguars got on the board first after Joshua Griffin made a 50-yard field goal to give Southern a 3-0 lead with 11:27 remaining in the first quarter. Florida A&M responded with a 43-yard punt return for a touchdown to give the Rattlers a 7-3 lead with 6:17 left in the first quarter.
Daniel Richardson found Jamari Gassett for a 53-yard touchdown to extend the Rattlers' lead to 14-3 with 13:52 remaining in the third quarter. The Jaguars were able to answer after Griffin made a 46-yard field goal to cut into Florida A&M's lead, 14-6.

The Rattlers went up 21-6 with 9:14 left in the fourth quarter after Richardson found Kelvin Dean for a 16-yard touchdown. Florida A&M added to their lead, 24-6, as Cameron Gillis made a 34-yard field goal with 1:51 left to play.
Southern will be back in action at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2 as they take on the Alabama A&M University Bulldogs in Huntsville, Alabama.
