Geauga Park District announced it will be offering Scout Days at Big Creek Park in Chardon Township and The West Woods in Russell Township this season, as well as a scout-geared snowshoe call list. Registration is required for scouts only, but adult leaders must also attend, at www.geaugaparkdistrict.org or 440-286-9516, and all should dress for the weather, according to a news release “Scout Day: Wolf Cub Scouts — Finding Your Way Adventure” will take place 10 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 9 at Big Creek Park’s Meyer Center. Wolf Cub Scouts will learn how to use a map and compass and then use those skills to go on an off-trail hike. “Scout Day: Junior Girl Scouts — Outdoor Art Explorer Badge” will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 9 at Big Creek Park’s Meyer Center. Junior Girl Scouts will work on their Outdoor Art Explorer badge and explore nature through art. The park district also is holding a “Scout Snowshoe Call List.” Scouts are invited to register now to receive notifications of naturalist-led snowshoe programs this December whenever snow/weather conditions are right, borrowing snowshoes from the park or bringing their own. Programs may be any time, day or evening, and at any of Park District parks, the release stated. Finally, “Scout Day: Webelos Cub Scouts — Earth Rocks Adventure” will take place 9 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 7 at The West Woods Nature Center. Webelos will work on their Earth Rocks Elective Adventure.
