Open Thread: Spurs announce Gunn Auto Group as official naming rights for Park at La Cantera

The longstanding partnership goes beyond TV ads Per a Spurs press release:
Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E) announced Gunn Auto Group as the official naming rights partner of the park at The Rock at La Cantera and dog park, now known as Gunn Family Park and Gunn Family Coyote Dog Park.
Hunter Hale, President of Gunn Automotive, stated,
“With places and spaces for San Antonians to connect and enjoy the outdoors, and a spectacular, new community hub, Gunn Automotive couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of The Rock at La Cantera and the Gunn Family Park. And of course, we love our Spurs and are always excited to be some small part of ‘the team.’”
The naming rights announcement was shared by the Gunn family, SS&E and Bexar County, with special guest appearances from Coyote and SNIPSA puppies available for adoption.
Bexar County Commissioner Grant Moody stated,
“I want to thank the Gunn family for your partnership and generous contributions to these spaces. I look forward to the continued effort between the County and Spurs Sports & Entertainment to further develop this area for the betterment of our growing community.”
The Gunn Family Park is a 22-acre park with trails connecting the Leon Creek trail system with the Howard Peak trail system.
Frank Miceli, Chief Commercial Officer at Spurs Sports & Entertainment, stated,
“Moments like this help strengthen our community when two beloved San Antonio brands can come together to provide a beautiful, free outdoor space for the public, supported by Bexar County. Gunn Family Park and Gunn Family Coyote Dog Park provide a safe space for all to enjoy, and we thank the Gunn family and the county for their continued partnership.”
Gunn Gives, the non-profit arm of Gunn Auto, is also a longtime supporter of SNIPSA, an animal rescue organization.
This official partnership is the culmination of a decades-long relationship built between the Spurs and Gunn, which includes memorable Gunn Auto ads featuring Spurs legends such as Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili. Gunn Auto has fostered a history of community and business leadership in San Antonio since first opening its doors nearly 70 years ago in 1955.
