(Courtesy of Trafalgar Square Books) LETTIE TEAGUE: Discusses her new book “Dear Readers and Riders: The Beloved Books, Faithful Fans, and Hidden Private Life of Marguerite Henry,” the untold story of the favorite children’s book author, featuring original artwork by Wesley Dennis from some of Henry’s best-known books, as well as more than 100 personal photographs, letters and artifacts. Henry, who died in 1997, was the author of 59 published books and spent nearly 80 years writing them or responding personally to the stacks of fan mail she received. Her books, including the Misty series, were mostly carefully researched historical fiction about influential horses and the hosts of characters who surrounded them. What else is going on Minnesota Mystery Night has a new home at Lucky’s 13 Pub, 1352 Sibley Memorial Highway, just a few hundred yards from the reading program’s former home at Axel’s Restaurant in Mendota. Founder and host Rob Junghans says only one month was missed because of Axel’s closing, but now “we’re back in the saddle” with the Nov. 18 program featuring authors Michael Faricy and Alan Miller.
