Any afternoon clouds look to dissipate later this evening as high pressure settles over the area for the rest of the weekend. Tonight lows will range from the mid-30s to the mid-40s. High pressure will build over the region on Sunday and through early Monday morning, creating ideal cooling conditions heading into the start of a new work week. The thermometer on Sunday afternoon will range from the mid to upper 50s and lower 60s. Then, after the sun sets, under light winds and mostly clear skies, the overnight temperatures will likely drop down into the upper 20s to lower 30s, which may require cold alerts to be issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) heading into Monday morning in areas where the growing season is still in effect. The work week looks quiet, although the temperatures will rise throughout the week as an expansive region of high pressure drifts offshore slowly. A few cold fronts will pass through the DMV, with the first coming through dry on Tuesday, with another likely to push through the region sometime Thursday night into Friday. The late-week front does not appear to have much moisture, but a few showers are possible by the end of the week. After Friday's front, more sunny and dry weather will build into the region for next weekend. 7-Day Forecast: Tonight: Mostly clear skies with low in the 30s and 40s. Sunday: Mostly sunny skies.
