A Brighton goal with 37 seconds remaining in regulation sent the Class AA girls soccer quarterfinals into overtime on Saturday afternoon, with Penfield coming out on top 3-2. Penfield led 2-0 at half with goals from Kate Masucci and Molly Brown. The Bruins battled back in the second as Lucille Peters put Brighton on the board, closing the gap 2-1 with 20 minutes remaining. With just 37 seconds to play, Fineen Cregan launched one in and found the top of the net to send the game to overtime. Penfield took the game just four minutes into extra play on a shot from Lyla Schenck that deflected off the defender into the net for the goal. The Patriots took the win 3-2. Penfield advances to the Class AA semifinals and will face the winner of Hilton vs. Churchville-Chili.
