ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Skies will clear overnight, allowing for temperatures to drop to the low to mid 30s. Rochester has yet to officially fall to freezing this season. It's possible Saturday night/Sunday morning could be our first real shot. Those with tender plants still enjoying the ride, plan accordingly. pic.twitter.com/7IVddsAslc— Eric Snitil (@EricSnitilWx) October 25, 2024 Sunday will remain mostly dry with a mixture of sun and clouds. Temperatures will only rise into the low to mid 50s for highs. That noticeable breeze will be around once again, making seem as though it will feel colder than the actual air temperature. Skies again will clear out during the overnight hours, allowing for temperatures to drop into the low to mid 30s. Our warming trend will begin on Monday. Highs will start to slowly climb back up, starting with the upper 50s for Monday. Skies will overall remain mostly clear for the day. Tuesday, our warming trend will continue, with temperatures getting back up into the mid to upper 60s. Our skies will be mostly covered for the day, with a small chance of a passing shower. For now, however, we will keep rain chances low for that day. 8-Day Forecast Wednesday will be our warmest day of the week. Skies will feature a mixture of sun and clouds as temperatures rise back up into the mid to upper 70s. Our record high temperature for October 30 is 78°, which was set back in 1946. We could potentially see a tied, if not new, record for that day. Our weather pattern will start to shift on Thursday. We are warm and mostly dry for the first part of Halloween before a cold front will move through the area, bringing scattered showers and cooler temperatures. The exact timing of the front is still unknown, but as we get closer and closer, we will start to narrow down the window of time. An early outlook from one forecast model to what Halloween could entail. As Halloween creeps closer, our forecast will become more precise. @News_8 pic.twitter.com/tGviNu8Kzi— Leanne Byer (@LeanneByerwx1) October 26, 2024 Scattered showers will linger in the area to end the week here in Western New York. We will be noticeably cooler as well, with high only reaching the upper 50s. Temperatures will remain close to the same for next weekend as well. A reminder for next weekend: clocks will "fall back," meaning our sunsets will now be earlier, so be sure to enjoy the latter sunsets while they're still here!
