One dead after crash on I25 South, road reopens

What We Know Now:All southbound lanes of I-25 South are now reopened.According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, at around 10:16 this morning, CSPD was notified of a two-vehicle crash just south of Exit 139.The cars involved were a car and a fuel truck.Once emergency personnel arrived on-scene, they found the driver of the car dead. the passenger of the car was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injures. The driver of the fuel truck was not injured.An initial investigation by the Major Crash Team found that both vehicles were traveling southbound on I-25 when the car which was weaving in and out of traffic at a high speed struck the rear end of the fuel truck.The collision caused the fuel truck to spin around and come to a rest on its side.CSFD responded and ensured that none of the truck's contents leaked.Southbound I-25 was diverted while investigators processed the scene.According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, the southbound lanes of I-25 are still closed at this time.What We Knew:All southbound lanes of I-25 are closed due to a multi-vehicle crash between Exit 139: Martin King Jr Bypass and Exit 138: CO 29. Expect delays.According to Colorado Springs Fire, CSFD is on the scene of a rollover crash with trapped parties inside. The rollover involved a semi-truck and another vehicle.As of 11:30 p.m., the patient who was stuck has been removed from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital.All southbound traffic is being diverted to MLK.
