CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WLNE) — The Central Falls School District said that counselors would be available for students at Central Falls High School Saturday after the death of a 14-year-old student in a shooting.
In a letter to the community the district said the high school would be open from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. for students to “access support as well as to gather and share memories.”
The school said counselors are from both the district as well as from Rhode Island Responds and Rhode Island Behavioral Health Medical Reserve Corps.
Police responded to Earle Street on the morning of Oct. 24 to find a 14-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound. She died at Hasbro Children’s Hospital the next day.
18-year-old Moises Maldonado was arrested on charges of manslaughter in connection with the case.
