Courtesy of Alpha Media USA Lincoln.LINCOLN–(KFOR Oct. 25)–It took until the third quarter for Lincoln Southeast’s offense to finally click into gear and take control of the football game Friday night at Seacrest Field against Lincoln East. The Knights got a pair of touchdowns from senior running back Cash Buettenback to pull away from the Spartans and earn a 21-3 victory in the regular season finale.  Southeast, who improved to 7-2, is expected to get a home game in the opening round of the NSAA Class A State Football Playoffs next Friday.  East should be in the post season, but likely a team that will hit the road. Before Southeast took control in the third quarter, neither team’s offense could get past each other’s defense in the first half.  The only points the Knights had came with 8:04 left in the second quarter, when a fake punt allowed punter Charlie Thorne run 51-yards for a touchdown for a 7-0 lead. East (5-4) got their only points of the game with 3:02 left before halftime when Collin Nehe booted a 24-yard field goal from the left hash mark. Defensively, Southeast sparked the momentum when Dane Omel intercepted a Ryan Manning pass at the East 32-yard line.  A 17-yard pass from Tre Bollen to Pierre Allen, Jr. set up a 4-yard touchdown run from Cash Buettenback for a 14-3 Knight advantage. Southeast’s final scoring drive came with 11:10 left in the game, when the Knights marched on a 10-play, 80-yard drive that was capped on Buettenback’s three-yard scoring run.
