KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Police Department has identified a man who was shot and killed inside a business at 8700 Blue Ridge Friday night. According to police, when officers arrived, they were directed inside the business where they found a man, 48-year-old Reginald Lamar, suffering from gunshot wounds. Lamar was unresponsive and officers requested emergency response teams. After they arrived, he was later pronounced dead at the scene. Shawnee police asking for help identifying suspect Officers did, however, take an adult male suspect who was at the scene into custody, according to KCPD. KCPD's investigation indicates that the suspect and Lamar were inside the business when they became engaged in an argument. The argument escalated to the point of shots being fired. KCPD also says that the two knew each other and that the shooting was a direct result of an argument or disagreement. Detectives are currently at the scene canvassing for witnesses and evidence. They also spoke with several people who were at the scene to gather more information. This is an ongoing investigation, FOX4 will provide updates as they're made available.
