UPDATE, 10/26/24, 9:30 a.m.: A 22-year-old St. Martinville man was arrested in connection with the deadly shooting at the St. Martinville High School's homecoming football game. Police said they obtained and sent an arrest warrant to agencies along the I-10 corridor. Gardner was allegedly a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped in Texas. Gardner will be brought back to St. Martin Parish to be booked into the parish jail. His bond has been set at $10 million, police said. "The amount of his bond is an example of a city and parish that will no longer tolerate this kind of violence, especially at a school function," police said in the social media post.
