Oct 26, 2024
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Zachary Broncos improve to 6-1 and 3-0 in district play after dominating Woodlawn High School 45-21.
The Broncos won the battle in the trenches, rushing for six touchdowns. The dynamic duo of Da’vekio Ruffin and Jecaryous Johnson found the endzone three times each. Ruffin finished with 204 yards on 18 attempts. Zachary's quarterback, Caleb Gonzales, put up 170 yards through the air and one touchdown.
Woodlawn couldn't find much success rushing the ball, but they effectively passed the game. Panthers' quarterback Ahmad Price connected with Jordan Knox twice in the endzone for Woodlawn's touchdowns.
Next week Zachary travels to take on Central for a big district 4-5A matchup, while the Panthers hit the road to take on Catholic.
