COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A man wanted, arrested, and indicted for murder charges stemming from a shooting on State Route 104 was sentenced to serve at least nearly 40 years in prison Thursday, according to court documents. According to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office, Brad Madison pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and a weapons charge in connection to the death of 33-year-old Brandon Joiner, who was gunned down while driving on State Route 104 in southwest Columbus. Joiner’s vehicle crashed into the median barrier near the intersection and police found him a short distance away. Madison Nine days later, Columbus SWAT officers arrested Madison, and he was indicted one week later. On Oct. 7 a Franklin County jury found Madison guilty of all charges, which included two three-year firearm specifications. Judge Dan Hawkins sentenced Madison to serve a lifetime prison sentence, with the possibility of parole after 39 years. Madison will also be registered as a violent offender.
