ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man arrested for failing to appear in court in Seneca Falls Thursday faces a slew of additional charges related to drugs, theft, and animal abandonment. According to the Seneca Falls Police Department, Stephen Kennedy, 35, was arrested Thursday for failing to appear in court after allegedly violating an order of protection. Stephen Kennedy (via SFPD) Police said Kennedy was carrying fentanyl when he was arrested, and they said he had left a business without paying for merchandise. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and petit larceny. According to police, Kennedy tied his dog to a tree near Balsley Road and left it there during an incident on October 22. Investigators allege he also had methamphetamine on him at the time. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and abandoning an animal. The dog was found safe. Kennedy was taken to the Seneca County Correctional Facility awaiting arraignment.
