(KRON) -- A man was convicted of committing multiple armed robberies across four Bay Area counties, California Attorney General Rob Bonta's office announced Friday. The man, Sirron Croskey, targeted victims in the parking lots of casinos. Croskey committed robberies in Contra Costa, Alameda, Santa Clara and Napa Counties in August 2022, Bonta's office said. He used an unregistered gun to get the victims to hand over money. Man sentenced to prison after attack on ‘easy target’ Asian woman in San Leandro After his final robbery in Napa County, he led Contra Costa County deputies on a high-speed chase. Authorities recovered the gun he used for the robberies. “Californians deserve to live their lives free from the shadow of violence,” Bonta said. “I am immensely proud of my team for their unwavering commitment to justice and for ensuring that those who violate the law are held responsible. When we work together, we get results that create a safer and more secure California for everyone.” Croskey pled guilty to one count of reckless evading, one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in public and two counts of second-degree robbery. The Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office, American Canyon Police Department, Livermore Police Department, San Jose Police Department and the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Gambling Control combined to investigate Croskey. He was sentenced to nine years and eight months in prison and will have to pay $9,855 restitution to seven different victims.
