MANHATTAN (KSNT) - If the annual Sunflower Showdown football game isn't enough excitement for Aggieville businesses, homecoming weekend adds a little something extra. The Kansas State Wildcats are hosting the Kansas Jayhawks for this year's rivalry matchup. Moro street was packed with a sea of purple, as the 'Cats welcomed alumni back with a homecoming parade Friday night. Varsity Donuts is a local gem on the edge of Aggieville. One of the 'Donut Slingers' (their official title) tells 27 News gameday weekends are normally busy, but this one is drawing an especially large crowd. "Late nights, and early mornings," Naaman Welch said. "Especially, our decorators and our bakers had a lot of extra work to do to make sure we had plenty of donuts for our customers today." Welch said they'll be back at it again, bright and early, tomorrow. "It'll be a busy weekend for us, but we love it. We have a great time here," he said. "Come by and buy some donuts!" The game kicks off at Bill Snyder Family Stadium Saturday night at 7:00 p.m..
