Pelion Police search for driver accused in deadly hit and run

Lexington Co., SC (WOLO) — The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) is looking for the driver of a car they say was involved in a deadly hit and run. According to authorities the crash took place Thursday October 24 around 7:15 pm when highway patrol officers say the driver was traveling southbound along U.S. 178.
As the car was driving, officers say the person behind the wheel is accused of striking a person walking along the side of Washboard road causing fatal injuries. Authorities say the driver of that car left the scene of the accident.
Authorities say the driver was in a 2011 to 2013 Chevy Impala, champagne in color with possible damage to either the front end or the driver side of the vehicle.
