Mobile home fire in Ascension Parish leaves elderly man dead, LSFM says

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating after a mobile home fire in Ascension Parish left one person dead on Friday, Oct. 25.
According to the fire marshal's office, the Geismar Fire Department responded to a reported residential fire in the 12000 block of Highway 73 around 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Officials stated when firefighters arrived on scene, they discovered an elderly male victim inside.
The identity of the elderly man has not been released. According to the fire marshal's office, the investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is ongoing.
