AUSTIN (KXAN) — Westlake senior Cal Livengood will have a heck of a story to tell for the rest of his life.
Livengood iced the Battle of the Lakes for No. 12 Westlake with an 82-yard punt return touchdown in the fourth quarter, lifting the Chaparrals to a 28-16 win over No. 6 Lake Travis on Friday at Cavalier Stadium.
It's the first loss of the season for the Cavaliers and Westlake moves into first place in the District 26-6A standings. Westlake has won the past five meetings between the teams.

Westlake intercepted Lake Travis quarterback Chaston Ditta three times, two coming from George Jones. Ditta came into the game without throwing an interception.
"We executed a plan," Chaps head coach Tony Salazar said. "How about that defense and special teams? I'm so proud of our kids. They showed up to work this week and treated it like a championship week. They wanted the respect they deserve, and the only way to do it was to come out and do this."

Westlake defensive back Brandon Clark had the other interception for the Chaps, and he returned it 58 yards for a touchdown with 0:37 left in the third quarter.
Lake Travis cut Westlake's lead to 14-10 with a 3-yard touchdown pass from Ditta to Carter Buck, but that was as close as the Cavs would get the rest of the way. They scored another touchdown on a 12-yard pass from Ditta to Josiah Thomas but failed the 2-point try to trail 21-16 in the fourth.
Westlake quarterback Rees Wise threw for a touchdown a 25-yarder to Livengood, and rushed for a score.
